CBPS bids a sad farewell to its ex-society member Sandhya Rao

We at CBPS today, bid a sad farewell to one of the most distinguished feminists of Karnataka namely Sandhya Rao, who passed away on August 27, 2016. She was with CBPS as a society member from the time of its inception in 1998 to 2011. We are deeply honoured that she served as a society member and had a close association with CBPS.  She also chaired the session with Srilatha Batliwala in our Annual Endowment Lecture on Gender and Development in 2014.

In 1994 she started Hengasara Hakkina Sangha (HHS).  Sandhya Rao resigned from HHS in 2004.  Since then she had been working in the area of gender, human rights and sexuality.  She did a lot of research, training and editing.  She worked a lot in the prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace.
